WE’RE FLYING SHEPHERD RANCH

We Believe in a Better World

Transport Agreement
Transport is provided in a Cessna 414, equipped with IFR technology.  Still, some weather conditions will make it unsafe to fly.  Please be aware of the difference between a ground transport and flight transport, which may be canceled at the last minute if weather is deemed unsafe to fly or just simply uncertain.
Airport Locations may be changed at the last minute because high winds, traffic closure, etc. may affect a safe landing.

Dogs and Cats must fly with a current Health Certificate and be up to date on vaccinations (Parvo/Distemper & Rabies for pups over the age of 12 weeks). Please refer to the PACFA website for information about valid health certificates.

Be sure that you have provided FSR with a correct and current weight.  Shelter intake weights are not always correct after a pet has spent time in a caring foster home.

Human and Dog Aggressive Dogs will not be allowed to board the plane.  Please be sure that you know the temperament of your rescue dog as the dog will need to be crated for the duration of the flight and be compliant with being loaded in and out of the airplane and crate.  The pilot reserves the right to deny the transport of any aggressive dog.

We ask that dogs/cats arrive at least 15 minutes before boarding the flight.  Please note that the pilot will not wait if there is a delay due to traffic or another conflict in getting the dog to the airport on time.

Please do not feed dogs 12 hours prior to flight. Water is fine.  Exceptions are made for puppies under the age of 12 weeks and nursing dog moms.

Rescues will receive ETA updates.  Frequently wind determines how close the arrival time correlates with the initial ETA rescues receive.  Please keep your receiving volunteers or fosters updated on ETA and make certain that they arrive at the airport in due time.  Receivers must bring leashes, preferably slip leads to the airplane.

Please be sure that any paperwork, HC and vet records, is in a clearly marked envelope with the rescue’s name on the outside.  It is advised that records be forwarded electronically to the receiving rescues.  Medications should also be in an envelope with the HC and clearly state the receiving rescue.  FSR will not be not responsible for lost paperwork, medication, chips, etc..

There is not always room for additional cargo, such as dog beds, toys or food.  Before sending such items along with the pet, please inquire about additional space.

The Flying Shepherd Ranch is a volunteer organization and cannot be held responsible for any injuries or health-related issues that may arise during loading, unloading and transport of a dog or cat.  In requesting a flight transport, you’ll agree to hold FSR not liable for any loss, injuries, health issues related to our flight transport.
